Why Mississinewa Prince Val received an Hon ROM:

Prince Val could arguably be called the 'Founding Father' of the Border Collie in AKC competition. Although there were a few BC's competing in the U.S. during the 1960's, Prince Val was the first to leave a mark as a sire of outstanding obedience dogs. He sired at least six UD dogs, four of which had High In Trials. He may have had more obedience dogs to his credit, but the AKC Gazette did not always publish the sire and dam of titled BC's in the 1960’s due to the fact they all had ILP's. Several more Wondereye dogs finished obedience titles during that time, but their parents are not given.

Prince Val carries on through at least two progeny - OTCH Wondereye Val ROMF and Scherry Star Sissy UD. Sissy was the dam of OTCH Dreamalot Val ROMF and OTCH Scherry Star Susie, whose daughter Somerstar Steffie CDX produced OTCH Somerstar Shari ROMF. Scherry Star Susie was also dam of OTCH Dreamalot Ben ROMF. Dreamalot Ben and Wondereye Val have had a strong, lasting impact on American obedience lines.
