2005 BORDER COLLIE NATIONAL SPECIALTY

October 10-16, 2005

OBEDIENCE JUDGE DIANE ALLEN

In 1973 I acquired my first purebred German Shepherd Dog and hit the conformation and obedience rings in 1975 for the first time. Four additional GSDs followed, with several UDs being completed, but never a breed championship. 1980 found me looking for a breed that I could more easily show in both rings, when I happened upon a Belgian Tervuren – it was love at first sight. To date I have owned six Tervuren, achieving multiple CH/OTCHs, BISSs, Group Placings, and some agility, herding and freestyle titles thrown in to boot.

Back in Illinois, I taught obedience classes for a private school for over 20 years. I retired and moved to Yerington, Nevada in 2000 and built my own house and training facility, where I currently teach private lessons for those serious obedience competitors.

National Specialties are always great fun and I look forward to judging at the Border Collie Society of America. I wish all the exhibitors the best of luck!
