BCSA Board of Directors
Lisa Weeks, Board Member at Large #2

Return to Board page

I honored to be nominated for a second term on the BCSA Board of Directors, as a Member at Large. I look forward to another 2 years to work toward building a unified club that is representative of the various interests and AKC pursuits of members in all regions of the country. In particular, as a 16 year resident of Arizona, I will provide representation for the west and southwest regions, now home to four area affiliate clubs. As an owner-trainer-handler of three Border Collies, I compete in conformation, herding, agility and rally obedience. I believe that I present a balanced and broad perspective, representative of a variety of the interests of the membership. I breed under the affix DesertShore, and have bred one litter to date. I share my enthusiasm for Border Collies and purebred dog sports at every opportunity.

I served on the BCSA BOD for the 2009-2010 term, during which time I have been the Committee liaison for the Judge’s Selection, Affiliate Clubs and Judge’s Education Committees, provided input as a member of the By-Laws revision committee. As a continuing member of the BCSA Board of Directors, in addition to the general oversight of the club, I will make it a priority to develop stronger relationships between affiliate clubs and the parent club, to create a transparent and systematic process by which judge mentors are approved, and to improve our judge’s education program. I pledge to uphold the Constitution and By-laws of the club, to engage the issues before the Board with an open mind and the highest of ethical standards, to offer honest and well-considered input, to stand up for what I believe in, and to work to the best of my abilities for the health, betterment and advancement of the breed and the club in all endeavors. Volunteering for the benefit of the breed is a small way that I can “pay it forward,” for the joy my dogs bring me, and the wonderful community of dear friends my activities with them has brought into my life. My husband, Hector, and now one-year-old son, Casey, share my love of Border Collies and are a source of tremendous support as I pursue my hobby.
