SECRETARY'S REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 16-30, 1998

OLD BUSINESS

Davida Dzierla has been appointed the new breeder referral chairperson.

Helen Phillips made a motion that after elections, we poll the membership on the following issues:

(A) Two amendments:
   (1) Requiring ten signatures, none from the same household, for nominations from the floor
   (2) Requiring a quorum at the annual meeting to be 20% of the current BCSA members
(B) The advertising policy as it appeared in the Jul/Aug issue of Borderlines, giving them an opportunity to vote separately on each
paragraph in the policy
C) Vote on alternating the schedule at the next specialty (or subsequent specialties)
(D) Vote on judges for 2000 specialty. Place a few boxes at the specialty asking for judge recommendations and use those, along with names suggested for 1999.

Nancy Little amended that motion to add another amendment to the Bylaws: If the editor of "Borderlines" is not a BCSA board member, then said editor should be included in board discussions, but will not have voting rights.

Joel Levy, who had agreed to serve as parliamentarian for the membership meeting, will not be able to attend because she
suffered some damage from the Hurricane Georges.

NEW BUSINESS

No new business was discussed.

SPECIALTY

The BCSA Board will meet on Wednesday between 7 and 8 pm.

Because there is no other time available, the membership meeting will remain as originally scheduled, immediately following the banquet.
