The
feature is Charlie from MidAmerica Border Collie Rescue
Charlie is an
extraordinary dog looking for an extraordinary home. Charlie is
neutered and approximately 6 years old, who LOVES kids, is great
with other dogs and cats, and is housetrained. Charlie is also
mostly blind...but don't tell him! He gets around just fine, even
navigating the stairs to the yard without incident. Charlie has
some partial sight and as long as he gets his ointment, only one
medication once a day, he should ret
ain
the sight he has), but that does not stop him from doing anything.
He goes up and down stairs like a champ, navigates around
furniture without a problem and loves going for walks. He just
kicks his front feet out in front of him, making him look very
regal.
Charlie is
housetrained and is left loose in my house while I am gone during
the day. Charlie must have at least one other dog in the house. He
really relies on having someone else to be his eyes and panics if
he is left completely alone. Because of his limited vision,
Charlie counts on the other dogs to let him know what is going on
and must be placed in a home with at least one other dog. He is
very submissive and has gotten along with everything from puppies
to my grumpy old poodle. Charlie loves lots of activity and does
best in a home with multiple dogs and kids or with someone who is
home most of the time.
Charlie
typically sleeps curled up around my daughter at night and is just
the most easy going dog you could ever hope to meet. He is always
happy, and as my daughter says, if you are having a bad day, just
hug Charlie and you will feel better. Charlie loves a house with
lots of energy. He loves Brownie night when ten squealing 8 year
olds all come to see him! Charlie has yet to meet anyone he does
not like. His view of the world is that there are friends and
friends he hasn't met yet!
Charlie is being
fostered in KY. For more information you can email Jean at
