Jack is a purebred, ABCA-registered, 10-month old smooth-coated Border Collie, available for adoption through Appalachian Mountain Border Collie Rescue. Jack had lived the first eight months of his life in an outdoor pen in Alabama so he tested positive for heartworm. He has completed 100% successful treatment and is now negative and on preventative. He also is neutered, vaccinated and negative for tick-bourn diseases. Jack weighs approximately 45# and is 22" or so at the shoulder. He is a strong and fit dog. He comes from excellent working herding bloodlines.

Jack has all the energy, enthusiasm, athleticism and intelligence of a typical young Border Collie in a very easy-to-live-with package. He is outgoing and friendly with everyone, gentle with children, gets along great with all other dogs (of all ages and sizes) and is fine with cats.

He shows great potential for herding training and would also be suitable for obedience, rally and agility. He settles down very nicely indoors and is housebroken and crate-trained.

To adopt Jack, contact Myra Soden at knollviewe@juno.com.  We are located in central Kentucky and some transport assistance may be available.
