Description: Base coat will be yellow and the hairs will be banded with dark tips. The nose leather is black. It is common for sables to have a mask, and even a saddle pattern of darker sable on their backs. Can be distinguished from Gold by noting that the hairs are lighter colored (yellow) at the base and banded toward a tip that is black.

Submitted by Wendy Lynne Frevert Wendy Lynne Frevert's "Kim" as a puppy and as an adult. Notice the changes in the coat as the dog matured.
