BORDER COLLIE COLOR

Return to Breed Color

GOLD (Australian Red) - Registration Code: 091

Description: This color is often described as cream, pale yellow/wheaton to ginger. It results from a masking gene that obscures the dog's true color. If the true color is Black, the nose will be black.  Dogs that are genetically Red, may have liver or dudley (pink) colored nose leather. Can be distinguished from Sables by noting that the hairs are one color and not banded or tipped black.
