October 22 - 28, 2012 - Jefferson County Fairgrounds - Jefferson, Wisconsin

BCSA will invite the Top 20 Agility dogs, owned by BCSA Members of good standing, based on points earned from the period of January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011. Dogs not in the "Top 20" will run in 2 Challenge rounds to win a spot in the final round to compete against the "Top 20" dogs.

Round One: Up to 50 dogs (decided by random draw) will compete in the first round consisting of a JWW course. The top 20 dogs will advance to the 2nd round.
Round Two: The top 20 dogs from round one will compete in this second round consisting of a standard course. The top 10 dogs from round 2 will advance to the final round
Final Round: The top 10 dogs from round 2 will advance and compete with the Top 20 dogs who all receive a bye into the final round. This course will be a “hybrid” course.

All of the courses will be international in flavor and designed and judged by Kathy Rudolph

Scoring for the BCSA Invitational rounds will be based on the same system that AKC uses for the invitational and the national.
Course faults will be scored as follows:

  • Refusal or Run-out = 5 points

  • Wrong Course = 20 points

  • Failure (e.g. missed contact or dropped bar) = 5 points

  • Elimination (obstacle not completed or skipped) = Whistle (score of zero)

  • Course time deductions = 3-point deduction for every second over course time truncating down to whole numbers.

  • All obstacles must be completed or a score of zero will be assessed.
Scoring will be time + faults calculated using YPS

    • ***The challenge portion is open to anyone running a Border Collie in Agility (you need not be a BCSA member nor does your dog have to be running in excellent)
