RESULTS:
Herding at the 2011 National in
Scio, OR, concluded on Thursday, September 15, with the annual Herding Instinct
Testing. Ian Caldicott, who owns Wolston Farms which was where the Herding
Trials were held at, tested a total of Twenty-one Border Collies (and one
Papillion). Of that number, Twelve were evaluated as “passed”. The requirements
for passing the evaluation and articles about evaluations appear on the BCSA web
site under “Herding Central”. The dogs which did not pass may pass at another
time if exposed to sheep again in a different environment or at just an older
age.
