First let me say I would be
honored to judge for your Nationals. I started herding in 1989
with a Bouvier Des Flandres after doing 10 years competition
obedience with the various non herding breeds I owned through
the years. When I tested my Bouv. and he loved it I started
training in Bakersfield 2 times a week (126 miles each way).
After a couple of years I found some land closer to home so I
could practice more often. The rest is history, I went on to
campaign an Aussie along with a Border Collie that I rescued and
received my advanced titles on both at the trial I was competing
at. Since then I went on to receive championships in AHBA and a
WTCH in ASCA and ran my 2 Borders at the national open field
nursery finals for the USBCHA and then on to the Open division.
I am an all breed trainer having titles on over 10 different
breeds and have been full time employed as a trainer giving
lessons, clinics, and demos for over 15 years. I believe the
main responsibility of a judge is to be fair and impartial, and
represent yourself in a professional manner for the agency you
are judging for. But.........above all else I believe an equally
important aspect of judging is to remind the competitors that
that we are here to promote the sport of herding and always
remember that no matter the outcome of the individuals run, our
dogs are our buddies and are only with us for a relatively short
time in our lives, so love them no matter what, because they
love us unconditionally........and last but not least.....have
fun....... Thank you again for considering me as one of your
judges and hope to hear from you soon. |
