The dog I am currently running is
Le'A WW Keepin My Eye on Ewe HSAsd,HIAsd,HXAs,HSBds,HTADIIIs
Some of the dogs I have trained
titled and/or owned in events: Winterwood Splash N Dash HSAsd,
HIAs; O'brae Lyric CDX, TD, HSAs; Ch WW Keep N Bizzie HSAs,HIAds,
HXAd, HSBsd, HTDIs,HRDIs; Ch Winterwood's Chill Chaser HSAs;
HTCH, WTCH, DC Dooly HTDIIIsc, HRDIIIsc, HTADIIIs, HXAsdc, HXBsd,
PATDsc, RTDsc,TT
Dooly's AKC titles include HSAsd,
HIAs, HXAsdc, HSBs, HXBd. He obtained his HC with 31pts,
including 5 majors. Dooly has his WTCH from ASCA, which requires
advanced titles on all three stocks (sheep/goats, cattle, and
ducks). He also has his HTCH from AHBA and trials at the Open
Ranch level in USBCHA. I have had Border Collies for almost 30
years now. I titled Dash before BCs had full recognition so she
is listed with her ILP number and her AKC registration number.
I have also trained and titled
Pembroke Welsh Corgis and German Shepherds. I have had several
instinct certification clinics over the past years for the
Atlanta Pembroke Welsh Corgi club as well as the Atlanta German
Shepherd club. I have handled Australian Cattle Dogs to legs
towards their titles. I regularly have people coming to my farm
to work various breeds from the herding group on my livestock. I
encourage these people to pursue herding and work to the level
their dogs are capable of achieving. Some of the breeds that
have come here to work and train are: Belgian Sheepdogs, Belgian
Tervurens, Border Collies, Corgis, Shetland Sheepdogs,
Rottweilers, Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Rough
Collies, and Briards.
I maintain a closed, breeder
flock of mixed hair sheep. I also maintain a flock of 25 to 40
wethers to use for training dogs. I now have a flock of ducks to
work with and have different stock to train various dogs on.
Since obtaining my license to
judge, I have already been hired to judge many trials, and have
even judged at KTBCC’s Regional Border Collie Specialty trials.
I have been a past herding chair for BCSA's National Specialty
and a course director several times. I have worked in the set
out pens at trials on A and B courses numerous times. I have
also used Dooly to set sheep on B courses.
I feel that my love and joy of
working with the herding dogs encompasses the whole range of
jobs that it requires. From taking care of the stock using good
stockmanship, training a good dog and developing that
relationship and combining all aspects of herding to the benefit
of the stock and the dog. I have built courses, put up fence,
put stock out, exhausted stock, chaired an event, been course
director several times, and have scribed/timed in AKC, AHBA,
ASCA and USBCHA. I believe I can bring a fair and experienced
opinion to competitors at herding trials regardless of the breed
they have chosen. I would feel especially honored and
experienced to judge my own breed at the Border Collie Society
of America's National Specialty in 2010 at Purina Farms.
