Diane trained her first obedience
dog as a young teen in the late 1960's, and discovered agility in 1990. Over the
years she has continued to train and compete with her dogs in obedience and
agility, as well as dabbling in field, tracking and conformation. Her first
agility border collie, Jack, gained some of the most prestigious awards in
obedience and agility and taught her the joys of teamwork built through positive
training. Her current partner, Quinn, is just beginning her agility and
obedience career and shows great promise.
She became an AKC Agility judge
in 1994 and one of the AKC’s Executive Agility Field Reps in 2002. She owns a
training center in Duluth, Minnesota with her husband Jim and they share their
hobby farm with four border collies, two horses, six peacocks, two turkeys,
three cats and eight ducks. Diane has always had an inquisitive nature when it
comes to dog training and behavior and continues to this day seeking and gaining
more knowledge in all aspects of the canine.
She is honored to have been asked
to judge the top dogs in this competition and would like to extend a hearty good
luck to all who will be going head-to-head in this exciting challenge.
