Brian Cleveland has been around
the sport of dogs since acquiring his first AKC registered dog
in 1982. Kendra, an oversized black and tan female Doberman
introduced Brian to the sport of competitive obedience. Over the
next few years and miles of traveling with her and Brian's 4
year old daughter, Melissa, they were able to acquire AKC's
Obedience Trial Championship and a win at the DPCA Obedience Top
20 competition.
Brian's next Doberman, Megan,
went on to exceed all expectations, until a cruciate injury
ended her career, but not before she gathered many high in
trials, including a national breed club win. Labradors, Golden
Retrievers, Belgian Tervuren, and a rescue Miniature Pinscher
named Digit, have all been a part of this journey.
Conformation and field trials are
events he has enjoyed competing in and judging at, along with
the experience gained judging obedience trials.
Brian was honored to judge the
1996 Doberman Pinscher Club of America's Top 20 Obedience
competition and also at AKC's 2008 National Invitational held in
Long Beach, Calif.
He wants to thank everyone
involved in organizing this event, and considers it to be an
honor and privilege to be asked to participate in this capacity.
