I'm looking forward to judging the Border Collie National Invitational, and wish all of the exhibitors the BEST OF LUCK!

I've been breeding and competing in the sport of dogs for over 30 years starting out competing in Field Trials with my husband, Tim, with our Golden Retrievers. We had a lot of success with our Goldens and in competitive obedience and trained, bred, and owned the #1 Golden Retriever in ALL Breeds. Harry, OTCH Shoreland's Big Harry Deal UDX, was my once in a lifetime Obedience dog, as everyone across the country remembers his enthusiasm, and HIGH drive. Worked faster then most border collies and had that same intensity and drive. Harry won some BIG tournaments and we worked hard as a team to win Ken-L-Ration Dog of the year back in 1989. He got 3 perfect scores of 200, and over 50 High In Trials that year. At that same time I also started training my first border collie in Obedience named OTCH Shoreland's Macho Man TD, who earned his CD, CDX, UD and TD in less then 8 months. He was fun for me to work with, since he was a new breed for me, and he learned so quickly. I waited until he was about 8 years old, and then I thought that I'd like to get a nice female to breed to him, so I contacted Anne Marie Silverton for a nice girl named "Tremor". She was a beautiful girl, but definitely had a mind of her own. But, she produced some lovely puppies that excelled in performance events, and got dual Championship titles! Later in years "Tremor" did get an agility title with a friend of mine. I got started in Aussies and finished several Championships in AKC and Canada, and won Winners Bitch at a National with CH Shoreland's Summer Breeze, and got Award of Merits with my girl Ch. Shoreland's Wishes Come True. When the Border Collies were accepted to show in conformation I imported several dogs from overseas, and started some of my show bloodlines. I'm very Thankful to all of these breeders for sharing their bloodlines with us here in the states. I'm also very thankful to have been able to owned and bred a few GREAT Border Collies. One of my most special Border Collies that I was honored to own, because of my good friend Terry Wise Hammond, was Am/Aust/PR/Int'l/World CH Goldentone Blue Illusion HIC-"Jordie" and my wonderful girl BIS/BISS-BIS UKC CH Shoreland's Rock Me HIC, or better know as "Betty". Years ago I remember a GREAT obedience trainer saying to me that my old Golden "Harry" was my once in a lifetime dog, and I never did have a Golden as great as him. Then I was so honored to get two GREAT Border Collies and fortunate to have both Jordie and Betty be part of my life. Again, I hope everyone has a great time at Nationals, and good luck to you all!
