The theme for the 2008 specialty is "In Pursuit of Excellence". We are looking for a photograph of the Border Collie that best exemplifies this theme with intensity of expression showing detail of the eyes, ears, and head.  Jeanne Hagen-Santiago will use this photo to create a portrait to be used for the specialty logo. This contest is open only to dogs owned by BCSA members.  The owner of the dog in the winning photo will receive a limited edition print of the logo. In the case of multiple owners, the owner listed first on the AKC registration will receive the print.

RULES/GUIDELINES:

• Only one photo per dog will be considered.

• Members may submit photos of three different dogs.

• Photos may be taken by a non-member amateur or professional photographer. The photographer will receive mention in the National Specialty catalog as the original creative source.

• Photo preferences:

  • Head shot photos preferred.

  • The dog should be at a 3/4 angle, shot outdoors in natural light.

  • Light source should be behind the photographer and should be as close up as possible and in sharp focus.

• Photos taken with digital cameras should be shot at the highest number of pixels possible (set on high quality rather than standard quality).

• If it is not possible to send photo via e-mail, print photos will also be accepted. However, no photos will be returned and BCSA is not responsible for any loss or damage to photos.

• Computer scanned photos at a minimum of 300 dpi will be accepted.

• A Copyright Release MUST BE completed for all photos (see below).
