About the Workshop:
During this two-day session, games, skills and
concepts used to build drive, focus, rapport and attitude will be introduced and
practiced. Participants will learn to utilize these techniques to successfully
build a foundation for the novice, open and utility exercises. Attendees will
find these concepts and skills of continued value as they strive to maintain
drive, precision, and enthusiasm throughout their dog’s career. Many techniques
introduced will enhance training for a variety of activities in which dogs and
their owners may participate. Those attending should come prepared to enjoy two
days of stimulating, informative, fast-paced learning and fun!
About the instructors:
Debby Quigley
has been showing dogs for over 20 yrs and has had Border
Collies, Shelties, Golden Retrievers and a Siberian Husky. She is active in
obedience, herding, agility, hunt tests, freestyle and tracking. Debby has had
over a dozen 200 scores, placed 3 times at an AKC Invitational as well as
multiple placements at World Series, Pup-Peroni and Gaines events. Her
accomplishments include four OTCH’s, over 100 High in Trials and the #1 Border
Collie in 1998. If you’ve ever seen Debby show her dogs, you can attest to the
wonderful attitude they have as well as an awesome work ethic.
Judy Ramsey
has owned, trained, and titled a variety of breeds. In 1980, she trained and
began showing her very first dog, a Sheltie. Since that time, she and her family
have shared their home with two other Shelties, a Doberman Pinscher, two Belgian
Tervuren, a Keeshond, two Papillons, a Miniature Wire Dachshund, and two Border
Collies. She has belonged to numerous breed and performance clubs, including
APDT, NADOI, and was the founder of the second Therapy Dog International Chapter
in the state of Oklahoma. She actively participated in therapy dog work for more
than 20 years. Over the years, she has been fortunate enough to earn an
Obedience Trial Championship, a breed Championship and a multitude of other
titles in Obedience, Agility, and Earthdog.
