The award, given in memory of Janet E. Larson, will be presented at the end of judging Sunday afternoon to the dog with the most points earned at the National Specialty.  The Janet E. Larson Versatility Award will include a certificate for a custom portrait of the dog, plus a Border Collie themed throw and a rosette.  The owner does not have to be a member of the BCSA to be eligible for this award.

This year’s competition is being structured a little differently than past competitions. The focus this year is not on simply qualifying in a given venue, but having a quality performance regardless of the other dogs in competition – that is a dog does not have to win a class to be given credit for quality work. You MUST be pre-registered to compete.

In the event of a tie, which should be far less likely with this system, herding scores will be used to calculate the winner. Additional information will be available at the specialty.

POINT VALUES
Participation in three venues is required; herding is a required venue.
A qualifying/passing score in herding is required.
All points are based on a qualifying score.
Only the highest point value for any venue will count for each dog.
Only points from three venues will count.
