Pat has been in the dog show world since 1965 showing Irish Setters in obedience, conformation and field events. She has had Border Collies since 1975, earning numerous titles on them, as well as on a Pomeranian.

Pat was an AKC Obedience Judge for 25 years prior to taking a position in 1999 as the Director of Obedience for the American Kennel Club. In May 2000 she was named Assistant Vice-President of Companion Events, which included Agility, Obedience, Tracking and Rally.

Since retiring from the AKC in May, 2005, Pat has resumed judging Obedience and Rally and in her spare time, volunteers at the Northwoods' Wildlife Rehabilitation Center as an animal/raptor rescuer and rehabilitator. She spends the rest of her spare time fishing and gardening, as well as enjoying her precious family, which includes a Border Collie and an Australian Shepherd.
