Eligibility Qualifications for 2006 BCSA
Obedience Invitational
The BCSA Obedience Top 20
Invitational will be held on Friday, October 20, 2006, followed by
two AKC obedience trails on Saturday and Sunday. The 2006
Obedience Invitational is open to those teams who have earned the
honor to compete for the "BCSA Obedience Team of the Year".
Special thanks go to Lynn Currie for her hard work on this project
and to judge Janet Lewis.
For each of the divisions --
Novice, Open, Utility and Combined -- the eligibility requirements
are as follows:
-
Open to all Border Collies.
-
All teams who have either a
UDX or an OTCH title are invited to compete in the Combined
division where they will perform all the exercises from the AKC
Open and Utility classes.
-
For Novice, Open and Utility, invitations
will be issued according to rankings on the BCSA Obedience
Scoreboard per the 2005 year end stats. Teams are eligible in
the division they are ranked. Invitations will be sent by May 1,
2006, via email if available. The top 20 ranked teams in each
division will be invited as long as they have not achieved a
higher title than the division in which they are ranked in 2005.
(i.e. teams that rank top 20 in the Novice division but have
their CDX by the end of 2005 must rank top 20 in Open in order
to receive an invitation or meet eligibility requirements as per
number 4 below.) Because the invitations are based on the team’s
achievement for the prior year, invited teams may choose to
compete on the level of their invitation, or they may move up to
a higher division. (See number 4 below for move up eligibility
requirements.)
-
If you are a non-ranked team
or for those teams who wish to move-up to a higher division, you
must submit either 5 scores of 193 or better OR 3 scores of 195
or better. These scores must be earned in the highest division
from which the dog holds an AKC title. Cut off for the
earning of these scores is Friday, September 15, 2006.
-
Dogs in the Novice, Open and
Utility divisions will perform all the exercises from their
respective class.
-
Placement ribbons will be
given to the top four scoring teams in each division
-
High scoring team of the event
will win the 'BCSA Obedience Team of the Year' honors.
